I'm after a smallish saddle pack, big enough to carry a tube, co2, levers, multi tool, maybe a couple of gels, and a biggish smartphone. Just enough for riding my local loops. I have a hip pack or camelbak for longer adventures. I don't fancy just strapping stuff to the frame, particularly over the winter as my local trails (and thence me & my bike) can get filthy. Getting the phone in the pack is seemingly the challenge.
The Ortlieb saddle pack 2 looks reasonable, but I'm wondering if 1.6 litres is just a bit too much capacity?
I don't love the look of frame packs before any one suggests that.
Thoughts plz?

Also, it's going to one a dropper so I guess that makes a difference? Or does it?

I always recommend these. Why? Because its not on the back of the saddle getting covered in crap all winter.

I've the bigger version of that Ortlieb that I'd use for commuting. Clamps to the saddle rails via a mount, there's just a small 10mm, maybe less, wide bit of velcro that goes around the post at or very near the top.

Phones belong in your pockets. End of.

Edit - in one of these. Which I might add has enough room for levers and co2 in it.

Thanks for the recommendations trailwagger!
OP, if you must have a bag, we do have one that is dropper friendly, but I'm not sure you'll get a phone in it. You'd be better off with The Piggy or Little Piggy with the Dry Bag option
