There's a bike shop in Congleton, which is about 15 minutes or so away

Yes, Cycle Centre in Congleton is worth a visit. Probably same distance from Alsager as Brian Rourkes.

Yeah I get you, I suppose it depends if you want to browse the latest shiny shiny or just get your bike fixed by someone you can rely on. Tim's good, he's not local to me or I'd use him first choice, but he's said that the car side of the shop does a lot more business than selling bike stuff - a consequence of people using CRC et al, I suppose.
