Am looking for something free that I can use to open and edit word documents at home.
When I get back into work the documents need to work in word.

Anyone suggest anything

Thanks

Libre Office but take care and make backups before you start editing. My wife used to do the edit in Word (2010) at work and OpenOffice at home until one day she lost a big report she was working on (ie. didn't have a backup). It took a good bit of work to recover some of the text and reformat it.

After that we just gave in and bought the home version of Office as it really wasn't worth the pain. If you make backups before you start editing you shouldn't have to suffer that though.

Careful with formatting, if you've got pretty documents with lots going on you may find it's not 100% compatible. You may find you need to work on a copy, then copy/paste your changes over to the original when you get into work.
