For a week in August, not tooo bothered about biking. Bit of fishing, wildlife watching, walking, peace & quiet etc.
Taking your other half away for a quiet week?
......I'll get my coat.
I have stayed here
On Skye in the North West bit near Dunvegan very nice in side, very clean and modern. When we went in late June that part of the island was pretty deserted. Its quite a rugged bit of coast line around the immediate area though so might not be exaclty what your looking for. Theres a fantastic beach just up from Dunvegan though, and the water was warm enough for swimming in June!
All I would say is that there are lots of ticks in the area and we ended up pulling about 6 out of our Boxer dog. Just behind the cottage you have access to quite a large field/land which would give your dog a reasonable place to play/explore.
Its not ideal for everyone as theres not much close to hand but we loved it.
Tiree's got everything you want. You might struggle to get something now though as the same folk return year after year and the best cottages are booked up one and two years in advance.
Alternatively hire a Camper and you can literally drive onto a different beach every night - there's 17 of them
