Looking for a lodge/Band B or possibly campsite within a 5 mile radius of Whinlatter.Any suggestions?
Anything in Brathwaite would be about as close as you will get.
Scotgate Campsite has Cabins/Lodges or Statics plus normal Camping Pitches.
It's a great site with really good new facilities.
there is only one campsite for whinlatter, lanefoot farm, it's sits right at the bottom of the hill and you can see the track from the campsite, in fact at night you can sometimes see people doing the route with their lights on. It's like 4 quid per person and the guy lets you have a fire in an old car wheel and you can ask for some lumpwood to have a bbq on there too, it's ace. You can cycle up to whinlatter, takes about 10 minutes.

they have a camping hut and some private pitches so give em a ring if that's your thing.
