As title 120mm travel
I know sid's are lighter but does that make them flimsy?
Coming from 150mm rev's so expectations high ?

2012 or old? (2nd hand/old stock)

Until this year they had different lowers (IIRC), now all that is seemingly different is the steerers (seems daft to me, to have two model basically the same)). So previously SID's were a little more flexible compared to Reba's. So as long as the spec is the same (damping etc), I'd plumb for whatever comes with the travel you want, blackbox damping (or whatever it called now) and a 20mm maxle.

I have 2012 SIDS std QR and they are ace. I can't detect any flex but then I don't work for MBR / am not at world championship level.

luckily Kryton, you don't havent go to "work for MBR / am not at world championship level" to tell the difference, after riding both even a mere mortal like myself with limited abilities can tell one was stiffer than the other..
Maxle for me by choice, doesn't mean I'll never ride my QR fork's again (or sell them to upgrade all my bikes), BUT I would plumb for Maxle's over QR when buying now, & his post does suggest he wants as stiff as fork as possible.

Unless saving every gram is your aim then just go for the rebas

Just my opinion Z1ppy, Can you tell its not the wheels / headset/frame? There's a whole lot of stress on all of it in a tight fast turn...

My point was, I can ride as fast and hard the next mortal, and frankly riding with QR SIDS doesn't affect my time or confidence as I can't feel anything alarming through the front of the bike, no disc rub even for example, so I wouldn't be following the various reviews when making my choice - which is my advice to the OP.

Mine are the older SIDS with the different lowers to rebas and can't say I can feel a noticeable difference in flex between them and my rebas.

And that's just my opinion I posted Kryton, I interruptered your post as suggested maxle was only marketing drawl, I only replied my experience was otherwise (yes same headset & wheelset using a converter 😉 ).

All a bit academic when the Op's posted they'd get a maxle version

I found today that riding with SIDs with QR slowed me down on 2 Cwmcarn laps by 5% compared with Maxle.

Must put the MBR etall magazine down before I buy a camelbak! Or the latest craze.

In all seriousness I'm sure there not the stiffest but they won't slow you down.

Race a lot? SIDs, otherwise REBAs.

Thats rubbish - are they not the same lowers? Why would racing make a difference.
Racing I'd say is more technical and fast paced than mincing. The only difference is jumping. Which I wouldn't do with Rebas in any case.

Since this year, it's basically like the difference between Sektors and Revs isn't it? Both have the same structure, but one (SID, Rev) gets the fancier damper and the other just gets MoCo.
