I have a 2009 Reba SL that is currently set to 100mm.
How straightforward is it to increase the travel to 115mm?
What special "bits" would I need?
Easy but 09 Rebas have 20mm spacers
Hmm okay.
Mine may be a little older then as I am sure they are 80/100/115.
Either way are the spacers accessed by taking off the lowers?
Yes. Some will say you can poke the air rod through the top of the leg but I couldn't.
Lowers off, circlip removed from bottom of leg, remove air rod assembly, remove spacer, re-insert air assembly, refit lowers, oil.

easy - I managed to pop air rod through top of fork leg. 5 minutes, and some fork oil.
peter poddy has the guide you need.
While we're on the subject, where do you get the spacers from/ I have a Reba Team set at 115 which would be happier at 100mm for the Maxlight XC pulling behind it.
If the forks are OEM you probably won't be able to increase the travel. I had some '09 ones which came on a Rockhopper Pro and I had a go but it couldn't be done.
I didn't need to take the lowers off to get at where the spacers go though - popping the rod through the top worked fine.
