Have you got the floodgate (little silver knob) wound fully on?

Normally a drop in oil level around the moco unit...RS forks can be a bit leaky around the floodgate and they might have leaked in transit. Did you notice any oil in the packing they came in?

Are you getting full travel? Similar thing happened to my 2010 Reba Team where oil dropped from the BB MoCo into the lowers (google "Rock Shox hydrolock"). Lockout stopped working & I was only getting ~80mm of travel (out of 120mm). Fixed under warranty, but this option is only available to the original owner IIRC.

wihout meaning to sound flippant, you dont need it

I bought the same fork as it had the lockout capability, but have found the fork to be so good that I never use it - and i'm a chubby funster

that said, you should be entitled to some form of compensation from the seller if sold as perfect working condition

Sram website has a link to the service manuals for the last few years of RS forks, with loads of pictures so you see what's what.

That said, I would check you are pulling the blue spindle round far enough when the lever is pushed down: I have heard anecdotally and on my mate's reba teams that even a tiny bit of slackness in the cable when it is 'open' made all the difference between working and not working. The enclosed design of the black box fork top bits looks good but does not help in getting this bit right.

If you're sure it's not that, it is pretty easy to take the top off the right leg, drain the oil and refill with exactly the right volume (5wt not 15 wt oil for this bit!): the manual says the oil volume is critical and even 5mls too little means it won't lock out, 5mls too many also bad apparently.

90% that its s a simple matter of oil levels being a bit low

even if its leaking into the lowers its only a matter of a new O ring I believe. try loco tuning for parts

I had this with a set of 2008 Reba Teams. They were also feeling spiky, like there was too much compression damping. I serviced them but they were still doing it, so I sent them back to Fishers. You'll have to do this through an LBS. I had a new moco unit fitted by them.

They've got a 2 year warranty (I think!) so if you can get a receipt from the original owner, or a friendly LBS with a creative pen, you'll be sorted. Try and get it through warranty as the moco is about £120 retail!
