Do they exist or are they all pretty much the same price as a small nations GDP?

£220 would be unreasonable. My Ti frame has loads more tubes and didn’t cost much more 😀

Those are about £311 plus postage. How’re you getting £250ish?

Ah! Thought it was a US site. Still bloody expensive for a bar

You want something niche with no practical advantage over the commonly used aluminium or carbon (in fact disadvantages) so it’s always going to cost a premium. I bet you can find something under £100 on Alibaba…

My last bar was steel so I’m not seeing disadvantages just shiny shine. Will check Alibaba out. Didn’t think of looking there

‘Reasonable’

£130 delivered. Widths range from 580mm to 740mm, 25.4 or 31.8 clamp, 35mm rise.

Use at your own risk.

I'd be much more bothered about shape than material when it comes to bars. And if the shape is good, then I'd want a bar that feels good, with enough flex yet enough stiffness for my weight/strength/style.

Also, with modern long reach bikes, don't underestimate how high the bars need to be - I'm not that tall but both my bikes have 40mm rise bars despite having 29" front wheels and 160mm forks keeping the stack high. 10 years ago I was running 20mm rise bars with a 26" front wheel and 140mm forks, so my hands must have been about 80mm closer to the ground!

I normally go Burgtec or Spank Oozy with the highest rise but my frame is Ti so shiny shine would be nice. Will probably end up with one of the aforementioned bars in Alu though. My last bar was a Stooge Scrambler and a Klunker before that. All the rise! 😀

£130 delivered. Widths range from 580mm to 740mm, 25.4 or 31.8 clamp, 35mm rise.

Saw those but anything less than 760mm feels wrong and I too am skeptical over safety. I’ll keep my eye out for some used ones on eBay and PinkBike. I’ve also been staring at your stem (Not that one, the one in the classifieds) but it’s too short for me 🙁

Bike is a Titus Fireline so not really long, low or that slack. Loving it so far though, rides lovely and seems very well made. I was worried considering some of the things I’ve read/heard about Planet X. I had great service and honestly feel like I’ve robbed them considering what it cost. Wheels are cheap but decent and the MRP fork seems good.

Just put some proper tyres on it as the ones that came with it were frightening. Looking forward to seeing what difference they make. It actually reminds me of my Stif Mort a bit, which is no bad thing and the geometry seems great for a do it all bike. Pedals up, along and down well.

So why do you want to change the bars?

The frame rides lovely the bars are okay I guess but, crucially, not shiny shine

I can highly recommend the Roost bar's if you don't mind the cost. Be aware though, they can take a fair while to arrive, nigh on two months in my case. Went for the 31.8 mm size with a 30mm rise.

@funkmasterp just changed the Tyres on my Fireline, pair of Vittoria Terreno's to reduce the weight and rolling resistance. Just plumped for some carbon bars in the Use sale, only 660mm left but for my use should be fine, again looking to shed some weight for not much money.

I’ve gone for a Magic Mary/Nobby Nic 2.6 combo. Just set them both up tubeless today. The Nic took eight attempts with the Airshot! Probably not saved much weight but will definitely be an improvement. Can’t get over what a great bike it is.

Moonmen make the coolest Ti riser bars in the world in my opinion. Not exactly cheap though……
