Need a replacement rear wheel and having trouble deciding what one to go with

Its either a e1700 with a 25mil width

Or a m1700 with a 30mil

Both are around the same price

The e1700 is an 'enduro' wheel so might be tougher

The m1700 is 'all mountain' so is slightly lighter but is wider so it will support the tyre more and resist rolling I think?

What do you think I should go for and does a wider rim actually support the tyre more or would 25mil be fine?

Depends on tyres, riding.

Hubs, bearings are important too.

Both have a 240 derived hub so the same there. The e 1700 is also available in 30mm and the m 1700 in 25mm, 30mm or 35mm.

Me, I'd go lighter and wider unless the other was a killer deal.

They both have the same hub (dt350)

I would be putting a hr2 2.3 on it but would want to run wider at some point like 2.5

@nixie they are both deals but only in those widths

I'm going towards lighter and wider too and the e1700 only weighs 40 grams heavier than the m1700 so it can't be that much stronger

30mm M1700 doesn't look crazy undersized with a 2.8 on it and is a lovely wheel.  Heartily recommend.
