I need to replace the rear shock on my 1998 Marin East Peak - I know it’s old, but for sentimental reasons I can’t force myself to get rid of it it!
The existing shock measures 150mm eye to eye, this severely limits the choice of replacement to cheap spring shocks. Does anyone know if could replace this with a 165mm air shock, or would it screw up the geometry and handling?

I replaced the shock on my 1997 Alpine Trail with an air shock of the same eye to eye length but mine was 165mm long. Are you sure it's 150mm?
