Bought a new bike in July 🙂 noticed the rear shock was leaking, took back to the shop about 6 weeks ago, and i it was serviced and thought all was good. Got ill, so did not ride it for a while... Ridden twice now, and noticed in the second ride that the rear shock headed adjusting...d Turned out that this is not the case, the bolt for the piston has dropped out and the shock is wedged into the frame... What is a reasonable position to take with the shop ? After all I would have thought the bolt should last more than one complete ride?

What does that mean?
Opps... Replace headed with Needed
Do you mean the bolt holding the shock to the frame at the moving shaft end has fallen out and so the shock came away from the mount and is now jammed?
If so, the bolt should have been torqued and threadlocked and should not come undone until you deliberately undo it.
This should have been done at the shop that sorted the service out. Take it back
Yep, that's what happened...
Bike shop took it on the chin... Well so far. There was lots of head scratching though...
