I have an old Tallboy - 2010 with a very bouncy monarch 3.3 rear shock. Any suggestions for a better  shock, 165 by 68 with some form of platform . Xx guy , and want the bobbing to stop when climbing . Looking at supposedly new old  stock more modern monarchs on eBay. Anything  to avoid / watch out for - unassuming the mounting points will be transferable ..

Thanks

J

165x38 and less bouncy. I'd be looking for something with a high compression damping tune. Even wth the fox CTD, or RS open, pedal, lock adjustments, the base tune will be more significant. rebound maybe less so as you tend to have a wider range of adjustment on most shocks.

If you can afford it go for a cane creek inline which you can tune to your hearts desire
