Trying to replace the rear shock on a Marin Alpine Trail c1997/8. Got a Fox Float R to replace the original. Removed old shock except can't release the fixing bolt on one end - seized in bushes. New bushes from BETD.

Old fixing bolt/pin will have to be replaced but can't source new one. Marin no longer keep as spare. Pin is 8mm dia x 30mm long internally threaded at each end.

Can anyone suggest a source? Or is the only option to get one made?

I know the one mean, I've got one in my garage.
It is however, still attached to my 1999 Attack Trail so you can't have it!
If you are local and want to borrow it for a short time to have a copy made somewhere you can. Email in profile.

Wander down to your local (Arkwright's type) hardware store, but even B&Q has a million different nuts & bolts sold individually.

Thanks guys.

andrewh - I can use the one I have as a model. It's still attached to the shock but should be able to take measurements.

Alternatively I will try zippy's suggestion.
