I managed to make the Tubus one off my 26" tourer work but the adjustment and clearances are so tight as to be a worry. Currently running 2.25" tyres but might go fatter in the future.
Any suggestions?
I just put an alpkit one on my longitude. It’s the 650b+ model longitude with the steel fork. The rack from alpkit seemed good value and does the job.
I did have to mod my Ortlieb gravel panniers to get the clips to line up due to the horizontal bar on the rack though.
Spin i can recommend the Topeak Explorer 29er MTB Rack with Disc Mounts. I haven't actually tried it in action on my Longitude but have successfully used it on my Vagabond to carry two very full and heavy panniers and full 30l drybag lashed on (20+kg).
As I am isolating and cant ride I thought i would better just check it will fit the Longitude and it looks like it will be perfect if i lower the Mudhugger. I might try later!
The Disc Mount option of the rack has some built in spacers on the end of the stays that mount by the wheel to ensure the rack and panniers clear the disc but I am not sure they absolutely necessary. Saying that they look pretty strong and it will help keep panniers clearer of a muddy tyre. Rack weighs in at just less than 1kg.

Thanks for that jaminb, I had actually been looking at one of them.
Tubus Vega fits nicely and is pretty light for a steel rack. It tapers slightly towards the top so with plus tyres you have to run it on the upper rack mounts. My GF has pinched it for commuting, so I'm going to get a Tumbleweed T-rack when they're available again.

Doesn't look to me like they're necessary for the longitude.

They're there to reach around the calliper on a seatstay mounted frame. If its on the chainstay any* rack will fit.
*A really low profile one might get close qnd clearly it needs to be long enough to clear the tyre.
I run a Salsa Alternator plus rack on my 29 plus Longitude. Good amount of clearance all around.
Old Man Mountain (OMM) has lots of clearance and now back in production now OMM is owned by Robert Axle Project.
