So it looks to me like the Mudhugger or maybe the Zefal 'No mud' are my only option to attach a mud guard onto the rear stays of my full susser, as I can't fit one to the seat post. Unless anyone is using anything else?

I am running currently 2.8's tyres (but will probably change to 2.5's), anyone know if the original version of the mud hugger will fit these? As that it one damned ugly mudguard, and I've run mud guard on nearly all my bikes since 2003, without going for the super wide 29er version

RRP are just releasing a specific Rear Pro Guard. It looks pretty good, not sure about what it will fit though.

Looks very similar to using a mud hugger front mud guard as a rear..

The rear mdhugger fits a fat bike so you will be ok.

I think it's the 29 but the width will be the same.

Im using the 29er mudhugger over 29x3 tyres. Width and length just fine. On a surly karate monkey.
