2nd soggy Quantocks ride and its only just November 🙄. Someone mentioned Proguards but looking at the pictures I don't think they look long enough to be effective? Anything else out there worth looking at? The other thing is they sit so close to the tyre I imagine they clog everything up in the mud?
Mudhugger
End of thread
Don't do it. Get a wet arse, its part of being part of the outdoors in the uk.
Waterproof shorts.
Mudhugger. End of thread (again)
Mudhugger - still end of thread. You can take it off (if) when the weather improves.

But at what cost? Filthier backpack requiring more cleaning. Filthier clothes requiring more cleaning. Filthier dropper post requiring more cleaning & maintenance. Ain't got time for that.
Mudhugger mudhugger mudhugger
Who wants freezing swamp-ass?
Mudhugger, uglier than an ugly thing but it works.
I get the mudhugger thing: bought one. But if you need to fit your bike back in the car then the shear scale of the mudhugger can prevent you getting the bike back in the car with the wheels off.
Back to waterproof shorts for me. 🙁
I fitted a Mudhugger last night. It better work, because looking at it makes me feel nauseous.
Mudhugger again!
Ugly as **** but it does the job very well
Before i used one my seat got covered in crap which i then sat in and the mud, grit, sand then used to wear away the seat of my waterproof shorts
Now after every ride my seat, shorts and back are clean
Top tip when fitting the supplied protection tape make sure you double wrap some strong tape (Gorilla tape) over the top, as the mudhugger has been known to wear through the supplied protection tape and damage the frame below
Another way which i did is to fit 3 cable ties to each side of the seat stay then mount the mudhugger on top of them, this keeps the mudhugger off the frame but still allows it to do its job
On my Anthrm the seat stays are so shallow that a mudhugger sits too far forward. A seatpost mounted one works best if that is your case. I’ve also fitted a down tube guard on the back to keep the muck off the shock and pivots.

How many Mudhugger threads now?
One more Mudhugger thread. Just recently refitted my rear mudguard for the 2nd winter season and although it does help a lot to keep the saddle area on the bike a lot cleaner than no guard at all, I still expect to get muddy lower legs depending on the magnitude of mud and water I'm riding through.
Basically I'd recommend. They are good but could possibly still be improved...

Business opportunity right there. Recycled/biodegradable please.
Jlln .This helps with lower legs.

Recently got Mudhugger for new FS ebike (bring on the haters 😀) Quite a faff to protect seatstays, with the supplied tape and some self amalgamating stuff on top but it certainly looks effective..... Not ridden yet due injury. As an aside, I also bought the front one, but it was too tight a fit on a Fox 36 with 2.6 Minion DHF.
Mudhugger no worky for me on a 5, lasted one ride and I took it off!
Heavy & not cheap, I fitted one to my 5 spot & got a wet back!
I got better results with a Zefal no mud.
Mudhugger is now on the hard tail & works better due to the angle of the seat stays but make sure you carry spare cable ties to fit it as mine was ripped off by a tree branch mid ride!
