I'm looking for a good rear mud tyre in 29 flavor. I've been running a Hans Dampf trailstar up front, and am really impressed with it, so i decided to get the pacestar for the rear. Unfortunately, it wont fit between my chainstays. So i'm looking for something that's going to provide grip, but fit between the stays. At the moment, i've got a Little Albert on there, and it's doing a good job, but i'm not sure how it would perform in the mud. Therefore, what do you suggest i use, that isn't wider than a 2.1?
Whatever the Mud X is now called is worth considering. I have them permanently on my rigid bike.
Beaver
Beaver front and rear works for me.
Bontrager Mud X. My go to winter tyre and surprisingly good on the wet rocks of Dartmoor and Exmmor. Rated as 2.1 but seems narrower
Bit draggy but I guess nothing compared with a Hans
Beaver and Mud x both good but obviously a low volume match to the HD.
Any deals to be had on Mud-X or beavers?
Storm Controls are excellent, rate them over Beavers personally but Beavers are slimmer. I prefer the volume of the S-Cs, good/easy to go tubeless, cheaper than most other tlr options also.
Beavers, obviously.
Get the wire one, not too expensive (try nextdaytyres), still get the dual compound rubber, not too heavy, tubeless well on my american classics.
