Sorry to ask, but the page I want on the Shimano website is blank
I have a 38:24 chainset and 11:36 10 speed cassette
Can I get away with a medium cage or do I need a long cage? Rigid frame. XT M781 mech

with a 38t front and 11-36 on the rear a medium cage mech might be a bit of a stretch because of the ratios involved so you might be better off with a long cage, however the zee rear mech (fr version) does apparently run up to 36t so you might get away with it

I had 42-28 on the front and 11-36 on the rear before going 1x10 and a medium cage X9 worked fine. Not sure if SRAM sizings are different to Shimano - I would have through medium would do, given it's a hardtail.
