I am trying and failing to fit a spare sram x9 10 speed (non clutch) rear mech to a 2015 Whyte G150 frame, but the b screw does not line up with the peg its intended to rest against and consequently the mech swings too far forward unchecked.

Am I on a complete non starter trying to run a 10speed mech on this frame or is it a case of a new mech hanger or bolt is required so that the mech sits further in toward the frame?

Not sure if i've misunderstood your post, but the screw on Sram mechs doesn't press on the hanger's lug, it presses on a lugged washer that rotates around the mounting bolt, and that presses on the hanger.

tomvet,

Any chance of putting a pic up, will help people to see what the issue is?

I belive my sram (lower down the food chain) the b screw does rest against the hanger, so my first thought was bent hanger.. But agreed, a picture speaks a thousand words.
