The chain on my giant glory has gone slack. It happened a few months ago and when i took it to a mechanic he said he just had to adjust one of the screws on the rear mech (shimano zee) and it was sorted. After a few months its happened again but I can't remember what I need to adjust or which way to adjust it

Any help you can offer will be gratefully received

cheers

james

It'll have been the B-tension screw that he adjusted, but once it's done, it shouldn't really need doing again. I'd check that the pivot that the cage rotates on hasn't seized up.

Check that the mech hasn't become disengaged from the stop on the frame - the lug on the rear mech can break / get bent. If you twist the tech anti-clockwise around the mounting screw / pivot does it spring back? Not unknown for the torsion spring to break / corrode - in most cases the rear mech is toast.

Something jammed or grindy in the clutch perhaps?

Or it's the usual - bent hanger.
