Hi Folks. I need to replace my rear hub as my centrlock splines are damaged. My hub is a shimano M3050, but they are very hard to come by and on closer inspection the tourney FH-TX505-8 has identical dimensions.. could i use this?

It'll fit and should be a straight swap but Tourney is right at the bottom end for Shimano so expect it to be lower quality than your existing hub (although Acera is quite low down the list so if that was good enough this probably will be too). Basically all you need is the same axle size to fit your frame and for the flanges to be similar (diameter and spacing) so you can re-use the spokes. You can spread your search much wider then these low end Shimano if you want to upgrade. At least have a look at Deore or SLX

Thanks for the reply. Yes i'm aware that its low end but its just for a basic mtb so not wanting/needing to upgrade and there is far more availability for the tourney than the acera.

thanks

Fair enough. Just double check the number of holes 🙂 You'll get away most other minor differences but not that
