You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Which would people recommend out of the 2 kinds, the ones which bolt together to 'sandwich' the rear drop out, or the 'bar and floating' type?
Also, does anybody know where one can find the 'bar and floating type' which sit on the rear axle and bolt onto the rear canti - V brake mount?
I may end up buying both and seeing which I get on with best.
Many Thanks.
Tim
Only used A2Z.
No issues, just try not to puncture somewere out there, as field replace might be a bit of a lenghty business.
At least with horizontal dropouts...

Cheers!

I used an A2Z adapter for a few years, worked well. Not particularly light, on a qr frame with vertical drop outs it's easy enough to fit and to remove the wheel.
Redundant now, lurking in a box somewhere.....
I just got a frame builder to weld on a set. £40 and seems to work well 🙂
The A2Z type only work if your dropout is the right shape - basically no socket dropouts or fancy chain or seat stay designs. It needs a flattish surrounding area.
Hence I have an unused/free to a good home one kicking about somewhere...
The old hope you one with the torsion arm was adequate at best despite being nicely adjustable with rose joints etc , but mostly better than the a2z.
Depends what sort of riding you want it for
woodman alsonused to do a torsion arm mount , but much like the hope and older amp ones needed a special hub axle
No need to thank me 😃

I had one of these and it worked perfectly. You have to hope it fits nicely against your dropout though. I couldn’t get the hole to line up either a part of the dropout I could screw through - so ran it without hat bolt. Still worked perfectly.
