When the cable mounts are on the underside of the chainstay do you route the hose from the caliper outside the chainstay and under or inside (between the chainstay and wheel) and then under.

Which one and why please?

between chainstay and wheel - outside always seems to be asking for it to be damaged clonking against something.

Inside.
Less likely to get caught.
Also if you go down it's not between the frame and the hard surface.
It "could" bend the frame if it hits the floor first (i've seen this first hand).

Whichever one works best with that frame. But ideally inside the swingarm.

mine is routed outside as I did it in a hurry.
I did question the intended routing though as to put it inside would mean the bend in the hose would be more severe, but that might be the caliper design rather than the frame.
there's always the chance a stick might get jammed on the inside but I think the risk is less than the outside. Chances are your legs/feet will get hit rather than your chainstay though.
