I'm converting my Hope Pro 4 QR hub to boost. While doing this I'm taking the opportunity to replace the battered rim.

I have a spare, unused WTB AYSM i23p rim to put on. When on a 137 qr hub the largest overhang is on the cassette side.

As the boost conversion needs the rim moving over towards the disc to recentre it I'm thinking of fitting the rim the opposite way round, so the largest overhang on the rim is towards the disc side.

Good idea? Has anyone done this?

I was going to simply say no. but thought I'd better justify that, so...

According to

the offset on the hub is 33mm / 19mm.

Even if you add the full 6mm on the non-drive side* that's still 30mm vs 22mm so you still want the spoke holes offset towards the non-drive side, although now only by 4mm.

I believe your rim is 4.5mm offset so you should end up with spokes the same length.

*The Hope conversion kit puts 3mm on each side so has no effect on the dishing.
