I have a recurring issue, with various track pumps. Basically the air won't go in!
I have presta valves on all my bikes. Before attaching the pump head, I unscrew the valve a little, and press it in, making sure the air comes out a little. I then pump away. Mostly it just pumps it fine. However quite often the air refuses to go in, and the pressure just builds up. Sometimes when the pressure is high, it will all of a sudden go in. Other times it refuses to, so I take the head off again and try again. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason. Are the valves sticking? Is there something blocking the airflow that's not obvious?
Many thanks

I reckon its the pump head. Some of them are rubbish and need a bit of fiddling to get right. I geuss it's a "Smart head" type pump? (ie. does both types of valve)
Try pushing the attachment further onto the valve.
Try pushing the attachment further onto the valve.
+1.
Unscrew the valve a little more.
Are you running or have run tubeless with latex fluid? Sometimes this can block the valve or over time can gunge the pump head so you need to give it a clean
This happens to me too when topping up 80 to 100PSI. I find it helps if I let a little air out first to free up the valve. Might be messy if running with latex...
Happens don't it.
Are your valves long enough so the head is not fouling on the rims.
