Eldest_oab rode down Ben Lomond tonight, and is pretty good speed wise according to Strava, allowing for a couple of stops for pic and boosting a jump again.
We note that the KOM is 17mins (4mins faster) than folk like Stu Thomson and Rab Wardell on 21mins or so.
The KOM ride is titled 'first Munro and new bike'.
Seems alarmingly fast, compared to chuffing fast riders anyway.
Two points
- is this realistic...?
- why the hell am I being drawn into Strava comparing like some saddo?
This one? https://www.strava.com/segments/1677847
The KOM holder has a lot of KOM's/Top 10's, that ride was on a full DH rig going by the pics, so yeah, seems legit. Who in their right mind takes a full on DH bike up a munro!?!
The other riders might be fast but not on that occasion as they were just chilling. Not every record on strava is of someone going flat out.

It seems he came 17th in a big enduro, i would say fast guy. Mind you that is some time to come down lomond....
You're right @stevemuzzy, I'm just amazed how far ahead of very fast people he is.
Hover bike. Must be a hover bike.
What Croe stated plus wtf is Strava?
😂
I'm going to step away from Strava, eldest_oab drew me in and I'm exiting....

Other way round for us as I showed it laddo. He's now the keen Strava follower to see how he's doing locally.
It is good for a basic guide of what can be achieved. There is definitely the odd dodgy segment round us where the top time is 4 seconds on say a 20 second segment.
