I've done this plenty of times, in fact i did it on said brake about a month ago.

But now i've changed shock i can't run the hose under the shock anymore as it's a fatter air can, so im having to run it under the swingarm.

Can i remove the hose from the lever (Avid) route it and fit it back on without needing to replace the compression olive or do i need to replace that when i remove the hose from the lever ?

Olives are supposed to be 'one shot' things - they change slightly under compression (hence the name). You may get away with it but for the sake of a 20p part I'd just make the change.

Personally I'd replace it, for the sake of a quid or two.
Pump the pads out a little, disconnect the hose and reroute it, reconnect and then push the pads/pistons back in...

Bugger.

Im not so much worried about the 20p, i trimmed the hose short when i did it last month so to change the olive/barb is going to make it even shorter....

Assuming this is an orange then?

Can you not undo the banjo fitting and re attach?

Hi,

Sorry went out to work after my first posts.

It's not an Orange no, a Trek.

I did wonder about removing the banjo fitting on the caliper, it looks removable.

Is that an option ?
