Following on from this post:Fleet of bikes?Frame colour..
What are peoples thoughts on re-badging a frame?
I've got an Intense 6.6 as my main bike but have bought a Spec Rockhopper to build up (which I'm getting sprayed the same colour as the Intense)
Is it deemed inappropriate to re-badge something as something else? ie: get some Intense stickers for the Rockhopper? Another option would be to get some custom Spec stickers in the same font etc as the Intense stickers.
It's a bike I'm building up to keep as an XC/hack bike...

Thoughts?

Due to a little girl I don't get as much time to ride as I'd like. Also, work is boring at the mo so spending lots of time looking for parts/bargains 😉

When i had my Soul powdercoated I thought it would be a wheeze to get some Apollo or Carrera stickers. But I didn't.

while you're at it, take all the badges off your car (if you have one) and go get some Ferrari ones 🙂

I want to paint my singlespeed bright orange, and put 'Apollo' stickers on it.

I would imagine you will get extremely bored of having the following conversation:

"Is that really an intense? It doesn't look like any I've ever seen"

"Um, no it's a Specialised Rockhopper that I have painted and put stickers on to look like an intense"

"Why the F*** would you do that"

"Never mind, I can't be bothered to have this conversation again"

Wasn't there someone on here a while ago who re-branded his set of Fox Forks as Rock Shox?

Keep it unbranded. Decent brands like Spesh and Intense are much more of a thief-magnet than quietly anonymous bikes or supermarket specials.

If you really must, design your own head badge and put it on both of them?
