why oh why oh whyyyyyyyyyyy would you make the end caps of the softest bloody plastic going?!?! i got one off fine with the widest flat blade screwdriver going, the second one, just rounded like i was cutting cheese instantly! melted the plastic out 😆 , now the pedals goosed as i cant get the plastic remains out of the threads to put a new end cap on...

bloody typical the end cap serves as a tightening device to stop the pedal rocking side to side 🙁

managed to service it fine on the plus side, shame i just cant use it now 🙁

anyone want a 3 month old candy 3 left foot pedal? freshly serviced1?!?!?

why oh why use such soft plastic 🙁

ps these havent been touched since new, so not being hamfisted with overtightening

£55 down the pan! annoyed stick to shimano next time i think 🙁

-1 / 10 at least

I'll have 'em as I've Candy 3's and they'll work as spares.

tbh Having seen the same problem with Candy 1's I bought some metal/Ti caps from ebay beforehand 🙂

eip - if you want rid

I got metal ones in the Egg Beater rebuild kit, do the Candy ones not include them?

njee - the candy 2 come with plastic caps, the more expensive 3 version comes with alu caps 🙁

not much use now as ive goosed it!

b r seriously if your interested then you can buy em off me! you can still physically use the internals i guess, and one pedal is totally fine! serviced and everything!

looks like ill have to buy the '3' version or above! tempted just get some egg beaters now, as i dont really think the platform did anything anyways

I can't find a socket small enough to latch onto the bolt inside the 'cheese' cap you refer too. Even been to a large tool hire shop and the shop itself nor the staff have one small enough

Other than that I love my candy 3's

Mini-socket set. Can't renember from where I obtained mine, but t'wasn't expensive.

EDIT: Ooo how about this one? Only a tenner so probly made from similar cheese to evrything w[s]cr[/s]ank bros make.

once the end caps are off they really are a breeze to service, even if just regreasing.....the socket does have to be really thin material to fit in, luckily my old man had one!

i think im gonna buy some eggbeater 3's!
