Looking at a group trip next year to do the Raid Pyrenean. A few folk have been put off by the distances involved, so it's just down to two of us.
Neither of us really needs the broom-wagon (famous last words), mechanic, on-the-road lunches or guide, so it seems stupid paying £999/head for all that.
What we do like is airport transfers, luggage transfers, and all accommodation sorted in advance.
Anyone used an organiser that can do a sort of 'half-board' package like that?
Have spoken to a couple of organisers so far, naturally they're keen to push to full package or nothing...
It depends when you’re doing it. I’ve got a friend who runs a taxi and uplift service and has supported people doing this before. It would depend on dates but I’m happy to put you in touch. He basically did what you say, luggage transfers, got hotels ready for you and (it seems) spends half his time driving back to last nights hotel to pick up headphones, chargers etc. I’m not sure on costs at all but you could ask him. Drop me a mail with dates and I’ll ask him for you if you want.
Sounds good Doug, thanks.
We're still at early stages yet, I can't commit till late in the year until I've made sure I'm over a back injury, would be good to have a contact.
