I've been slowly putting together a Ragley Trig. It's only gone around the block a few times as I'm struggling a tad to get used to it.
I've noticed that where the front brake hose enters the fork leg it rattles around a tiny bit and this seems to have rubbed a bit of the shine off the hose. Has anyone had issues of the front brake hose wearing where it enters the fork?
I was wondering whether there should have been a grommet (there wasn't). Anything to worry about or are both fork and hose plenty hardy enough?
My Boardman is the same, i don't think its an issue, you could wrap a little electrical tape around the hose there perhaps

I've applied a bit of mastic tape to prevent the hose wearing into the carbon fork but I'm not fully sure what you mean.
I'm not sure that a pic. will show anything, it's quite slight at present but it's a case of the brake hose knocking/rubbing slightly against the hole it goes through to enter the fork leg.
It's just a case of whether, over time, the hose and/or fork might wear. Some sort of rubber grommet would probably have helped.
Could just seal it with silica sealant. Easy enough to pick out if you need to replace the hose but should stop any rattle. Or, as mentioned above, wrap electrical tape around the hose until it is an interference fit.
Internally routed forks really are form over function. I've got a trig fork i'm about to fit on my gravel bike, and i've got some bolt on guides to do it externally. I don't want to disconnect the hose to service the headset and the like. Worth using some tape to keep it protected and reduce rattle.
