Looking to buy a Ragley Bly pig, just wanted to know if there are any owners of the above on here.
Basically I want a super slack steel hard tail for the less rough local trails.

Would be good to hear what people think to them and also an idea on sizing.

Cheers

If no feedback here, try the ‘steel is real’ group on that Facebook?

I’ve got a 2016 (I think) and I like it
haven’t ridden it much as only just finished building it up how I want it, but it will be my go to
Bike this winter
I’m 5’10 with stubby 31” legs and find the medium a good fit

Great feedback thanks.

Think I’ll need a large, typical when I’ve seen a medium for sale.

I’ll try the FB group.

Cheers.

Got a Marley which is similar, 6ft on a large. Really pleased with it, only thing I can fault is head tube/stack height is a little low, ended up with higher rise on the bars to help my back.
Built it up cheap, for winter & rides away from the Peak but it is great.

I also have a Marley. 5'7" on a medium and it fits really well. I had one of the 26ers for a while too. The build/finish quality has improved a lot in the intervening few years.

Just fitted some Mudhuggers to mine (I know)
The 160mm Pikes look massive, it’s designed around 150mm but I bought it secondhand and it had 120mm Revs

Had a 2014 26'er. Going from a standard geometry bike it was night and day and one of the best handling HT's I've ridden. My first ride out I was two wheel drifting corners with ease. When set up right it's a confidence inducing frame that eggs you on to push it to the ragged edge and beyond. An absolute hoot to ride as fast as you dare. Can get you into trouble of course and coming into heavy duty rock gardens too fast (it will happen), you will get a short sharp reminder you are on a hardtail.

The early quality problems seem to have been solved. Since the yanks have been bigging them up (see Pinkbike sexiest hardtail thread) the price has got a bit silly, the competition has heated up, and there is definitely room for some weight loss.

A classic Pig or a modern one? I had an Mmmbop then a Ti- all the same geometry as the original Pig- and they were awesome, the Ti was just spectacular really.

It’s the 2016/17 in after. Think I’ll go for the large. Just need to find someone willing to part with one now.
