Anyone ridden or own a Ragley Big Wig or Big Al ? I'm interested in buying a large frame and building up with a 130mm fork. How stiff is the frame ? any feedback appreciated. The frames seem well priced at £550 for the Big Wig, and £300 for the Big Al

I like my Bigwig, but it is a bit of a lump- doesn't have any real "steel feel" (since that's more or less from thin tubes, which it doesn't have) and does feel fairly dead to ride. But there's still just enough bend in it to take the harshness out of the back, which is good as it's ridiculously fast.

I haven't ridden an Al but traditionally Ragley alu bikes are stiff as a stiff thing. I ditched my mk1 Mmmbop for that reason

The Big Wig looks pricey to me, considering it's not premium steel tubing.

If looking at the Big Al, I'd also consider the £150 Scandal frames (with headset) on a PSA today.

I'd just impulse buy one of them if I were interested in a 29er HT again TBH.

Yeah, agree with that, it's pretty well finished and definitely well made but it is expensive. (didn't pay that myself)
