Just bought one of these of the classifieds and have tried to install it. I used a Shimano hollowtech BB. I have now decided to use a 3 ring set-up so need to take the cranks off.

Firstly - was it wrong to use the Shimano BB?

Secondly, what tool do I need to remove the crank arms? I naively thought they would come off by undoing the 8mm hex in the drive side arm but alas no!

Thanks

A Shimano BB is fine.

As for removal, lots of 8mm elbow grease is fine as it works against the 10mm reverse threaded ally nut.

Plenty of swearing helps.

You will need one of these, I've got an Evolve and a Deus xc and this is what I use

If they are like mine they will start removing themselves as you ride.

The bolt keeps coming loose and they have been sent away to Orange from my LBS. I think then Orange are sending them to Silverfish. All in all a total clart on.
