My Turbines have a relatively new aluminum MucOff preload collar that replaced the chocolate plastic RF one on the NDS. Over the last few rides it steadily undoes over the course of a ride to the point where there’s enough play to creak like a mofo! I’m thinking of using threadlock…would the blue be the best option in this instance…243?
With the size of the bolt involved, I wouldn't use anything too strong, 222 or it's equivalent should be fine.
Assuming it's the same system as the Next SL cranks, then it needs a crap load of torque to keep it in place.
I had the same problem with the crank arm coming loose. Guy at the bike shop said ignore the Nm (40Nm, I think) and got it to stay there using 60Nm.... So fag packet calcs, just stand on the end of the allen key.
It is the same system as Next SL. 40Nm through the preload bolt though, no chance! The plastic one would probably strip with just the weight of the torque wrench.
OP I'm assuming the same did not happen with the plastic preload ring?
