Hallowtech2 type bb raceface crank. X mountain rf bb goosed. One shop says i need a race face bb other said shimano will be ok. What does stw suggest?

i replaced a raceface one for a shimano one on my five as the raceface one only lasted a month, load of sh'te stick with shimano

Yes. But I've just chucked my RF cranks and fitted some Deore. Finally had enough of the creaking and working loose!
