my wife has a set of 780mm race face carbon bars. She'd like them cut to 720mm but the bars say don't cut below 750mm?
any idea why this is? There's plenty of room to fit levers and grips if they are at 720mm

First impression would be the shape of the bar inboard of the grips is starts to taper a bit.

The tube wall might be thinner or less reinforced in some areas, so not designed to have controls clamped on it.
