Im wondering if it's really as easy as just screwing on the drive side arm to 50 NM and that doesn't put too much force on the bearings? (XT bb in my case). The crank doesn't spin freely this way but only requires a pinly work of force to turn.
Am I missing something? P.S one I got came with a self extracting bolt.
thats all i did but with a hope bb. been fine for about 12 months, just had it in bits to change the bb bearings.
Actually now it's spinning a bit more freely, seems fine. Cheers
My Aeffect cranks are fitted with a press-fit XT bottom bracket, been on there for 3-4 rides now, no issues at all. I just fitted it as I would have done with the original RF bottom bracket.
