Just reading that Rab will be bringing out dedicated MTB and Gravel clothing in 2023
Looking forward to trying some. Hopefully they have some samples at the factory shop.

Hopefully arm length is longer than the Rab waterproof I bought lats year - traditionally Rab always a long cut for climbing, this as joke. Its a Kinetic jacket, as per the new bike one. I don't take it bike packing (use an Endura one instead) as arms too short and Kinetic fabric takes ages to dry out once wet. This is from somebody who has always loved Rab kit.

I think it's a good thing that 'traditional' outdoor gear companies are making bike kit.
IMO, a fair bit of biking kit is weakly designed and over priced. And certainly over logo's.

Kinda related, I keep getting Montane adverts for bike packing gear. I love Montane kit, but they have one jacket which would do the job if you already had it but is in no way dedicated bike kit. I really hope they get serious with and I'll plaster myself in it.

Edit: that cinder phantom jacket looks da bomb

From ISPO article

When the ride intensifies, you can drop the thigh vents to lose excess heat, which also gives easy access to cargo pockets.

I thought this **** with ventilating pockets already proved as bad idea. Choosing between keeping your stuff or ventilating?

Rab's a bit too nice, for me, to be getting muddy and scraping on trees and the ground on MTB.

Great for woman as Rab do seem to realise woman come in a range of shapes and sizes. Someone I know who works in the industry has seen it and says it looks really good.

This stuff is now available! Just ordered one of the Ridgeline jackets as our trip to Italy looks cooler than hoped. Bit of a punt as there are absolutely no reviews anywhere, but it’s Rab…

Cinder Borealis jacket would be on my shopping list, but why the **** haven't they done a xxl, why do they think that all cyclists are tiny.

In fact it looks like that is across their cycling range, why limit the size range for cycling to less than their other products. They will be trying to say that one hat size fits all next.

Someone needs to tell them that cyclists don't tuck their tops into their shorts/trousers

Not really - if you consider how much decent outdoor kit is and this is the same quality. Compare to 7Mesh, or Rapha?

As per my comment 9 months ago I just hope they have got their arm length sorted.

Depends what kind of riding you do. If you like jumps and gnar and you crash a lot it's probably not for you.

If you're just pedalling around and it'll last for years then it's easier to justify.

Well this 30-something cyclist just bought something for 3 planned bikepacking trips 😉

Yeah prices are inline with 7-mesh and Rapha (the other primary elements of my kit draw). I agree if you are riding bike parks with the risk of crashing, maybe not your thing. But for multi day rides out in the hills where you need light, reliable kit, I’ll take my chances given their stuff has worked very well for me hill walking and backpacking, and lasts for years.
