I've got a pair for my work bike, the reviews are good but having them in my hands they feel a but clunky.

They're replacing a pair of worn out Bontrager race lites which seem neater all round. I know cost wise they don't compare, so am I just being a ****t .

Is anyone running 500s and how are you finding them for general commuting and the odd long ride?

For general riding I don't think you can do better for the price. My partner and I have used them for a year on day rides up to 100 miles and touring.

Just done JOGLE - she on the R500s, which were fine, and me on a pair of handbuilt audax wheels fom SPA - I didn't really notice a great difference.

Of course if you spend a lot more you will get lighter wheels which will feel different...

I'm a serial rim wrecker, tend to ride between 150-250k's a week on the road and these have held up well for the last month or so. Whatever you do though; don't borrow someone's Mavic aksium elites. That'll ruin your perception of the R500's tolerable weight. Bloody good for £80 a pair though.

They feel a lot heavier than the old wheels with tyres and tubes in, but they are a third of the price.

Being heavy will make them harder to push which in turn will make me stronger and fitter no? 😛
