As above, I will need to downsize my stable/carpark battleship fLOLtilla at some point. I've had a lot of fun on my SS roadbike but it's an obvious candidate to go when I could have a SS rr wheel for my Six and convert when I want.
Similarly, I have a 26" sliding dropout SS Shand with HUGE clearance that I could get a 650b+ wheel into (and SC32s which would take it too), a 29er Kona (used as a drop bar rigid & cross bike) and a fat bike. None get ridden much atm!
My Pact is B+/29er swappable and I reckon will get more use than the true Fatbike which will be saved for snow and the occasional beach trip (not something I really do - or you do). Seems like consolidation of your three MTBs is the way to go. Would the Shand take a 29 X 2.1 or thereabouts? You'd need another 15-20mm clearance between axle and seat tube compared to the B+. You might manage that with the slidey dropouts.
I'm not really bothered about 29er, I like mine as it's another bike and has drops, 29 vs 26 in itself doesn't justify another bike (drops might).
Shame my Fatty is now worth 50P as the new improved version (with 0.5 degree different angles) has reached its true value!
Is there a 650B+ rim <100gbp WTF?
Are there cheap 29er+ rims?
Congrats on a full house of bike bulls**t bingo btw
I do like carpark battleship flotilla, that's awsomesauce
DT XM551 is £89 and much nicer than the Scraper. Still not cheap I appreciate, but probably the best quality vs cost option out there.
Are there cheap 29er+ rims?
how cheap is cheap? I've got a pair of rabbit holes for sale
