You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
have an opportunity to grab a quick ride at afan on sat morning early on, no time for one of the longer rides so the choice is the wall or whites level... but which one?
whites I reckon, more bang for your buck
Wall, not as many people ride it with there skills compensator's trying to be rad.
if you have time to drive up to Glyncorrwg and do whites you have time to do the wall twice! 🙂
Wall is closer to motorway turn off
Whites starts on the climb, Wall has 15 minutes of boring track before the fun begins.
Whites unless cwncarn is closer.
Whites, I like Y Wal, but whites has the added fun of the black run section, all be it with the fireroad climb after
Start in glencorrwg and do it all (about 45km)
If you want a trails with 'features' do whites
Else you might as well park nearer and do the wall
Took me 3.5 hours to do both (w2) missing out the black loop on whites the other day, steady pace.
July trail then.
quikkie at afan - whites level or the wall?
Bottom car park 😯 - Rhyslyn
Both- won't take long.
cheers chaps, not enough time to do both so whites it is as i'll be parked up at the campsite behind the bike centre fri night. hopefully up and early will avoid the density of the weekend crowds.
Worked out well. Cwmcarn, ok but a bit more xc than manicured man made trail flow than I would like, but empty trail othewise. Freeride section rode twice was fun. Whites at 8.30, loved the climb, caught a small group of lads but overall saw noone. lovely.
I spent sat morning at Afan did about 55Km.
I hate to moan but I came across group after group sat talking blocking the trails. One spot three guys just stood chatting blocking the trail looking at the their head cam while two had to ask several times for them to move.
No issues about stopping but why leave your bikes blocking the trail or stand chatting and not let the rest of us pass?
could'nt agree more. my 'man-made' trail centre experience is limited to say the least but stopping and blocking the trail does seem to be the norm.
Cwm Carn Downhill section
+1 Pawsy, especially when at said trail centres there are obvious places/openings/gaps for people to stop at for a chat, even when I've had a puncture or mechanical mid trail if it can't be fixed in seconds (not the puncture obviously) I've always looked to find somewhere out of the way of the line, even walking back a bit to a clearing, in order to give others room to ride past unhindered
