Hello all. On my 11sp stuff the shimano chains I've used have been listed under XT/Ultegra (or Deore/105) at the same time. Are the 12sp chains similarly cross compatible? A quick google says they probably are but I've yet to see anything that gives me confidence (particularly since the garbage AI summary linked to an article that made no mention of it at all).
The chain's I've seen available only seem to be listed as XT 12 speed.
Thanks Mr Revivesheffield! Turns out STW > Google again.
I've seen a few different tests now that identify the fact that, due to the better treatments, the xtr level chain is the cheapest per mile. Maybe worth bearing in mind
Yep, XTR 9100 chain can last at least 5 times as long as 6100 SLX. I wore an SLX chain out in 300 miles and then swapped for a 9100 waxed chain that did 2500 miles with no signs of wear, I sold the bike so don’t know how long it would have gone on for.

Entirely true, pound for pound they are the bet shimano chain to buy regardless of the rest of your drivetrain.
The X01 chain is also fantastic on ebikes.
It's my go to chain on Shimano running gear.
Can also confirm, 4244 miles clocked up on the original chain on my Domane ebike and still plenty of life left in the bugger (waxed obviously)
