Just bought a road bike with 2 speed Chainset and 10 speed cassette should I be able use every gear on the cassette in the smaller chain ring with out it catching?

Not if its a compact (and short chainstays).Rubbing on the inside of the 50 when you're in the 11t perchance and it getting picked up by the ramps/pins?
It happens....deal.
Not that theres any need to of course 😉

It works fine on mine also (I am a girl-it's my 'training' bike) and I've seen it a lot 😕

You'd be crossing the chain going small - small anyway so you wouldn't want to be using the gears in that way.

Just man up and keep it in the big ring at all times....
