Inspired by the "best tool i ever bought thread". This sort of thing any good? Sounds ideal for out and about but not sure if this ones made of cheese...
I honestly can’t remember the last time I failed to remove or fit either a quick link or a tyre with fingers alone, so to my mind it’s a curious pairing 🙂
I'm guessing you don't run 11 or 12 speed Bez? They're not really designed to be removed without a tool* (no idea why anyone would want a tool to fit one, that's just being inept)
*the 11pd one on my cross bike has been removed and refitted so many times it almost falls apart on its own now though 😉
Can't remember ever having to remove a chain on a ride so not something I've ever thought needed to be a thing.
Only worth having at home so would buy the proper tool. If you need to make a trailside repair you would just break the chain or remove the damaged links, and you don't need the tool to join the links, just use pedal pressure if it's stubborn 🙂

Correct: still on 10, 9, 8 and 1.
Wippermann Connex links are your friend😎
Just use a shoe lace to un do it. I've never tried it but it's a Seth bike hack
@blackflag. I bought one of those Amazon Wolftooth knock-off pliers in your picture. £12.00 delivered. I was expecting it to be made of cheese but I've used it twice & all I can say is works great, & seems solid. Can't see me paying £36 quid for the original.
A shoelace does the same job. And metal tyre levers? No, thanks.
