Afternoon,

Got a quick 'on route' stop planned for later this week.

My only other visit to Swinley was on a fully rigid Monstercross dropbar Swift...Gnarr!

Remembering it being snoopy berms but can't remember if anything really warranted a full suss? It'll be 130mm hardtail or 150mm full bouncer. What's it riding like? I've only got about 2.5hrs.

Heckling and advice welcome.

Thanks

Chris

150 bouncer will be overkill on the waymarked trails, even the drops of death are fine on a hardtail.  In 2.5hrs you've got time to do the full loop and re-do the bits you liked, or try some off piste stuff.  It's almost too dry there at the mo, riding v fast so no excuses

Haha, thanks for the advice.  Thought hardtail might be more suitable.  1:30hr for a blue and red loop about right?

Hardtail probably best all-round option.

Comeback with the bouncer once you've found the good stuff.

I recall the first blue bit before the red being a bit crappy, but they've redone the final blue sections recently. Should be easy to blast round that lot in well under 2 hours.

Personally I like it on a full susser - you don’t need one but otherwise it’s just a bit annoying bumpy in places where it’s very pedally. Off piste there seems to be some better stuff  if you can find it but I’ve not explored much.

The hardtail would probably be quicker though.

Either

Hardtail - Faster

Full suss - Comfy and no hills so win win

1:30 for a full loop is about right unless you faff

Looking like 28degrees on friday so I might be going for the lighter/cooler option!

Looking forward to it
