hi, i have some enduro bearigns in my frame that need replacing. I would like to use SKF instead. I have googled the enduro bearing numbers, which gives me a measurement (in this case 12x28x8). As long as that measurement is the same, the SKF bearing equivilant will fit, right? See below for an example!
Thanks!
are these
the same as these
Yes.
cheers drive!
Might even be better, because those look like upgraded seals (RSH vs RS) and it's always* dirt and water ingress that knackers bike bearings.
*OK, small sample size but loads, speeds and temperatures aren't significant compared to industrial applications.
What's the failure mode of the existing bearings?
Often Enduro max bearings are used in frames as they cope with static loads better.
If your bearings are mucky, then maybe you need something with better seals.
99.9 % of the time pivot bearings should be max compliment which have more balls and less grease , therefore offering better lateral load . Skf , Ntn etc dont make max bearings , max bearings are made by very few companies , Skf Ntn etc are better wheel bearings than the average.
Yup, broadly speaking max (or bushings) for things that rotate but don't spin, caged for things that spin. And most bearings are caged because most bearing jobs are spinny jobs.
I think Enduro are pretty guilty of offering Max as if it's just better tbh. They probably sell a lot of BB kits and they're frankly overpriced and not very good. But they're ace in pivots.
