Need some advice please about a shock and some forks.

Have already contacted Rockshox uk and they sent me a ‘contact a dealer’ email which unfortunately I can’t do tonight!

Does anyone know the max number of tokens you can fit in a 29er boost Yari. Set to 140mm.

It is not listed at that travel for either the Yari or the Lyrik.

Second question not so urgent, I have a monarch fitted on my orange stage 5 that to get the correct sag setting I need to put 340psi in, is there a re tune that would allow me to run the same shock at the same sag with less pressure in it.

I’m 125kg in kit and I would suggest I’m not a delicate rider.

Cheers in advance

RS 2019 tech specs say 3 tokens fitted from factory, 6 maximum.
The Lyrik is not listed at that travel in 29er.

Thankyou for the links, I have already been through them but unfortunately they only show a Yari going to 150mm in the 29” version. Mine has a 140mm airshaft fitted, therefore whilst I could make a best guess I would rather have a definitive answer.

My understanding is that the 29+ is a completely different chassis and therefore can’t be substituted.

Thankyou though

Oops, sorry. I misread the table.

I think the limit for number of tokens is clearance with the air shaft. Lift the top cap off and measure the length of the void. Just make sure that the air shaft won't hit the tokens at full compression. From the table I'd suggest 5 tokens is fine, but it might be possible to get a 6th in there.

I’ve got 4 fitted, another 2 ready to go. I’m tempted to fit and try without air to see if there is any clash- but could be an expensive mistake.

When you take the top cap off the air chamber, compress the forks fully and measure how far the piston is from the seat for the top cap. Or put a stack of spacers on, when you can't compress the fork to full travel with no air you know you need to take one off. As long as that distance is smaller than your stack of spacers then it's not going to cause any damage, ramp up too much and feel too progressive.

Oh and shock tune won't affect static sag, but it will help keep the shock more controlled as you are probably out of the usable standard range (you'll need firmer to deal with the higher forces) so a custom tune would make the shock and fork behave better.

I’m pretty sure that the When fully compressed the air piston will be in the same position regardless of the length of the air shaft. Though t is worth removing the top cap and measuring the clearance to be sure.

I had similar issues with a monarch debonair and saw some advise to switch to a smaller volume air can. You can also get volume spacers for the shock and those, for me, that made it just about manageable but i am not as heavy as you.

It’s frustrating as with air forks I’ve never had an issue, never had an issue with my old five or it’s replacement the transition patrol. Now I’m back on a single pivot it’s the first time Ive exceeded 300psi, I even had to buy a new shock pump.
