Heading down to Portsmouth to visit relatives and am debating whether to take the bike? I've seen a thread on here where some people have been doing a great job makin trails, so question is: is there much there now and is it worth a visit in Sunday!?

Cheers

There's probably enough to keep you entertained for a day. You could always go for a pootle on the sdw.

Yes. There is 5 miles worth of trails that the local trail pixies have put in an fair play it is fun. They've turned that park around completely and it is really fun. There's also stuff to ride outside of the park itself. I'm sure if you ask on the QECP topic for a guide someone would be available.

The new trail is getting rave reviews but it's pretty short. I rode there a couple of years ago and thought the "other stuff" was fairly limited. If you have time only for an hour or so then QECP for a couple of laps and a little extra. If you've more time and want a more scenic ride with plenty of climbing then South Downs Way, eg around Chichester / East Dean / Bignor Hill or possibly even take the ferry to the IOW. Threads on here on both.

Deffo worth it .
If you have a few hours then ride the easy family trail as a warm up . Then ride the new Orange loop , then ride up Butser Hill coz its there and its big and the veiws are pretty good from the top.
cafe stop for a Pannini or Latte
Orange loop again for kicks
Home with stiff legs and a grin

Butser hill is worth going up for the views and then the blast back down. Managed 51mph once going down!

hah, i used to bomb down butser back when they had a grass ski ramp at the top. nowadays that sort of thing doesn't really do it for me but .. if it's dry there's a right of way at the back that's great fun. lots of nice bridleways and BOATS around there if you can get a local to show you 😉
